About the opportunity:
We are delighted to be partnering with a high-growth European fintech business that is continuing to scale its technology and product capabilities across multiple international markets.
The business has ambitious plans for its next stage of growth and is continuing to invest significantly in its Engineering organisation. As part of this, they are looking for an experienced Senior Talent Partner to take ownership of some of their most important and complex technical hiring.
This is not a transactional recruitment role. The successful individual will operate as a genuine strategic partner to senior Engineering leadership, combining exceptional direct sourcing and market-mapping capability with the ability to influence hiring strategy, improve assessment and use data to drive better decisions.
The business is focused on maintaining an exceptionally high technical hiring bar as it scales. Quality is valued over simply increasing hiring volumes, and the Talent team is expected to challenge, advise and influence rather than simply deliver against vacancies.
The role:
Sitting within the central Talent Acquisition team and reporting to the Head of Talent Acquisition, you’ll partner closely with senior Engineering leaders, Engineering Managers, technical specialists and the wider People team.
You'll have significant ownership over how the organisation attracts, assesses and ultimately hires Engineering talent across its European operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Owning end-to-end recruitment for complex and business-critical Engineering positions, including senior individual contributors, Engineering Leads and niche technical specialists.
- Building and executing sophisticated direct sourcing and talent-mapping strategies across multiple European markets.
- Developing centralised talent pipelines across key Engineering disciplines, enabling the business to take a broader and more proactive approach to technical hiring.
- Partnering with VP and Director-level Engineering stakeholders to understand workforce requirements, hiring priorities and future capability needs.
- Running detailed hiring-manager intake sessions, translating technical requirements into clear candidate profiles, assessment criteria and sourcing strategies.
- Partnering closely with Engineering Managers and senior technical stakeholders to continually improve interview and selection processes.
- Leading structured candidate debriefs and ensuring hiring decisions are based on clear evidence and consistently high standards.
- Creating innovative sourcing strategies for particularly difficult technical searches, incorporating AI-enabled sourcing, targeted outbound campaigns, market mapping, events and external communities.
- Coaching hiring managers and interviewers around structured interviewing, candidate experience and effective selection.
- Using recruitment data including time-to-hire, offer acceptance, conversion rates and quality of hire to identify bottlenecks and influence hiring decisions.
- Leading wider Talent projects focused on areas such as interview training, employer brand, assessment, levelling, sourcing technology and AI.
- Providing Engineering leadership with external talent intelligence, including candidate availability, competitor activity, compensation and wider market trends.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
