Senior Tax Associate – US/UK Private Client Tax

About the Job

Working as part of the Private Client Group, the Senior Tax Associate will manage complex US and UK individual tax matters while supporting a range of technical and advisory projects.

  • Prepare and review complex US and UK individual tax returns.
  • Manage tax compliance requirements for internationally mobile and cross-border private clients.
  • Undertake detailed technical research across US and UK individual taxation.
  • Prepare clear and technically accurate advice for client advisory projects.
  • Assist with the delivery of complex US/UK tax planning assignments.
  • Work directly with clients to understand their circumstances and identify appropriate tax solutions.
  • Prepare budgets and assist with the commercial management of client assignments.
  • Take increasing ownership of client relationships and project delivery.
  • Develop broader advisory skills through involvement in clients’ businesses and personal tax affairs.
  • Work closely with managers, directors and other members of the Private Client team.
  • Support and contribute to the development of more junior team members.
  • Assist with business development initiatives and the acquisition of new clients.
  • Ensure key deadlines, quality standards and client expectations are consistently met.

Previous Experience

  • 3–5 years’ US and UK individual tax experience, ideally operating as a genuine dual-handler.
  • Experience working with international and cross-border Private Client matters.
  • US CPA or Enrolled Agent qualification, alongside ATT.
  • Strong technical knowledge of both US and UK individual taxation.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing complex personal tax returns.
  • Previous exposure to tax advisory work and technical research.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing effectively within a wider team.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience using a major tax preparation software package.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Must meet UK legal working requirements.
