Senior Tax Consultant

Location: Mayfair (London)
Hybrid – with client meetings as required. Candidates must be based in the UK with easy access to London and have settled status to work and live in the UK.
Salary: Highly competitive six-figure package + medical insurance, working from home, pension.

Our client is a well-established and highly respected accountancy practice based in Central London, currently undergoing an exciting phase of strategic growth and expansion within its tax advisory offering.

As part of this ambitious project, the firm is looking to appoint an experienced and commercially minded Senior Tax Consultant to help develop the tax function. This is a unique opportunity for a high-calibre tax professional seeking a visible, client-facing role with exposure to sophisticated advisory work and international clients, including major corporates, multinational groups, and high-profile stakeholders.

The successful candidate will bring a strong background gained within a consultancy firm, with proven experience advising complex corporate and international clients. You will work closely with partners and senior leadership, acting as a trusted adviser across a broad range of UK and cross-border tax matters.

This role combines technical excellence, strategic advisory expertise, and relationship management within a fast-growing and entrepreneurial environment.

  • Deliver high-level UK tax advisory services to corporate and private clients
  • Provide strategic tax planning solutions to optimise tax efficiency and support long-term commercial objectives
  • Advise on complex corporate structures, reorganisations, and international tax matters
  • Support multinational businesses with cross-border tax considerations, particularly involving Italian jurisdictions

Tax Compliance

  • Oversee and review Corporation Tax, VAT, Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, and Inheritance Tax matters
  • Ensure full compliance with UK tax legislation and HMRC requirements
  • Maintain the highest standards of technical accuracy and risk management

International & Corporate Tax Exposure

  • Work with multinational groups and internationally active businesses
  • Advise clients on UK tax implications of international operations and structures
  • Liaise with overseas advisers and stakeholders where required

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders
  • Act as a trusted adviser, delivering commercially focused and practical solutions
  • Communicate complex tax matters clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences

HMRC & Regulatory Matters

  • Manage HMRC enquiries, investigations, disclosures, and negotiations
  • Stay fully up to date with changing UK tax legislation and regulatory developments

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with partners and senior management on the growth of the tax advisory practice
  • Review and supervise work prepared by junior team members where appropriate
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and client growth opportunities

Professional Qualifications required:

  • CTA qualified – desirable
  • ACA, ACCA, or ATT – desirable

Experience

  • Approximately 7–10+ years’ experience within a recognised tax advisory practice
  • Strong background gained within a consultancy firm.
  • Demonstrable experience working with multinational clients, large corporates, and complex tax structures
  • Experience managing senior client relationships and delivering high-level advisory projects
  • Knowledge of European languages such as Italian, French, Spanish will be beneficial but not compulsory

Technical Expertise

  • Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate and personal tax
  • Exposure to international and cross-border tax matters
  • Excellent understanding of HMRC regulations and current legislation

  • Commercially astute with a proactive and solutions-driven mindset
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical capability
  • Confident operating within a fast-paced, client-facing environment
