TAX MANAGER | SAMPSON FIELDING | MARYLEBONE, LONDON
We're growing — and we're looking for great people.
If you're already operating at Manager level in tax, or looking to make the step up, we are the firm you've been looking for. You'll join a great team with genuine growth potential and the autonomy to make your mark.
At Sampson Fielding, we work closely with a genuinely varied client base: HNW individuals, limited companies, trusts, and charities. Our relationships run deep, and we encourage it. We're a team that cares about doing things properly, and we invest in the people who share that outlook.
The Role
The person we're looking for is proactive by nature, not just by job description. You'll lead and manage complex tax engagements across corporate and personal tax, oversee compliance cycles, review returns, and identify planning opportunities — all while providing clear, practical advice that clients can act on. You'll also play an active role in developing junior team members and contribute to business development by spotting new opportunities and strengthening client relationships.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
