Senior Tax Manager
Midlands (Birmingham OR Nottingham) | Mid-Tier Accountancy Firm
I'm working with a leading mid-tier accountancy firm that is looking to appoint a Senior Tax Manager to join its growing Corporate Tax team.
This is a senior role offering a broad mix of corporate tax compliance, advisory, and transaction work, working with entrepreneurial businesses, owner-managed companies, and larger PE-backed groups.
It's an opportunity for an experienced tax professional who enjoys working closely with clients, handling complex tax matters, and playing a role in the continued growth and development of a team.
The Role
You'll take ownership of a portfolio of clients while working closely with Partners and Directors on more complex advisory and transactional work.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients
- Providing high-level corporation tax compliance and advisory services
- Advising entrepreneurs, owner-managed businesses, and PE-backed groups
- Leading and contributing to complex tax advisory projects
- Advising on M&A transactions, including tax structuring and due diligence
- Managing complex and technical tax issues
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Identifying opportunities to develop existing client relationships and generate new business
- Taking responsibility for client take-on, billing, recoveries, and cash collection
- Working collaboratively with specialists across tax and wider advisory teams
- Reviewing and overseeing work completed by more junior members of the team
- Supporting the technical and commercial development of the wider tax team
- Acting as a senior point of contact for clients and providing commercially focused advice

About You
We're looking for an experienced Corporate Tax Senior Manager or an ambitious Tax Manager ready to take the next step.
You'll ideally have:
- Strong technical knowledge across UK corporate taxation
- Significant experience in corporate tax compliance and advisory
- Experience advising OMBs, entrepreneurs, and/or PE-backed businesses
- Experience of M&A transactions, tax structuring, and/or tax due diligence
- The ability to manage complex tax projects and technical issues
- Strong commercial awareness and client relationship skills
- Experience managing and developing junior members of a team
- A track record of contributing to business development
- ACA, CTA, or equivalent qualification
