Senior Tax Manager

We're looking for a Senior Tax Manager to help lead the next stage of our client's Tax function's development. This is a genuine opportunity to build depth, develop the team, and combine strong technical delivery with commercial ownership. You'll have real autonomy to shape how the department grows, working closely with senior leadership.

The ideal candidate is someone who combines strong technical Tax knowledge with commercial judgement, client confidence and the ability to develop people.

Responsibilities

Department leadership

  • Lead and develop the Tax team, building capability and succession underneath the senior role.
  • Set clear responsibilities and ensure work is delegated at the appropriate level.
  • Coach and develop team members, giving them increasing exposure to technical work, advisory and client ownership.
  • Identify recruitment, training and development requirements.
  • Build a scalable operating model as the department grows.
  • Create an environment where the team can operate effectively without becoming dependent on one individual.

Client leadership

  • Own senior relationships across the Tax client portfolio, including the firm's most complex and highest-profile clients.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to founder-led and owner-managed hospitality businesses.
  • Lead complex client conversations without routine escalation to the Managing Director.
  • Provide practical, commercially focused advice rather than simply technical answers.
  • Identify advisory opportunities across the wider client base.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to identify Tax opportunities earlier in the client relationship.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
