We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Senior Tax Manager to join our Finance team at Hillarys and Blinds2go.

This is a unique opportunity to work across both leading brands, supporting a complex and dynamic business while helping to shape and strengthen our UK tax governance framework.

The role will support both Hillarys and Blinds2go, and although responsibilities span both businesses, the position will be based from the Blinds2go offices in Colwick, Nottingham.

About the role

As Senior Tax Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of the Group's UK tax affairs. Reporting to the Group Finance Controller, you will lead UK tax compliance, reporting, governance, and tax risk management activities while providing key support to the Group Finance Controller in their capacity as the appointed Senior Accounting Officer (SAO).

Working closely with the Global Tax Director, Finance leadership teams, external advisors, auditors, and HMRC, you will help ensure that robust tax accounting arrangements, controls, and governance processes are in place across the UK businesses.

This is an influential role within the Finance function, offering the opportunity to drive continuous improvement, strengthen tax controls, and provide strategic tax insight across a growing and ambitious organisation.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead UK tax compliance and reporting activities across Hillarys and Blinds2go, ensuring all statutory obligations are met accurately and on time.
  • Support the Group Finance Controller in fulfilling Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) responsibilities, including coordinating the annual assessment and certification process.
  • Maintain and enhance the Group's tax governance framework, ensuring robust tax accounting arrangements, controls, and risk management processes are in place.
  • Oversee UK tax matters including corporation tax, VAT, employment taxes, withholding taxes, and other relevant compliance requirements.
  • Lead tax accounting and reporting activities, including tax provisions, deferred tax calculations, financial disclosures, and support for audits.
  • Partner with Finance, HR, Legal, Payroll, and external advisors to provide expert tax guidance and ensure tax risks are effectively managed.
  • Monitor UK and international tax developments, assessing their impact on the business and driving any required changes.
  • Support Group tax initiatives, including transfer pricing, Pillar Two, Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR), and other international tax requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, controls, systems, and automation while promoting best practice across the organisation.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, providing clear and practical guidance on tax governance, risk, and compliance matters.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
