Supporting the Group Tax Manager, you will deliver the Corporate tax year end and half year accounting and compliance obligations and advisory support for the Costain Group. The role will involve dealing with all aspects of Corporate Taxes within the UK based Costain Group. The role will also be pivotal in helping ensure that tax compliance is embedded across our systems and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prioritising CT actions & delivery, to realistic but challenging timeframes
- Supporting transformation activity and the executive board agenda
- Preparation of all Corporate Tax returns
- Corporate tax cash management, Group relief and RDEC relief
- Accounting for corporate tax in Group and subsidiary accounts (both half and full year for Group)
- Manage RDEC process
- Production of accurate quarterly forecasts of tax rates and tax payments on account
- Managing adhoc queries
- Process mapping CT returns in support of SAO
- Responding to HMRC queries and attending HMRC meetings
- Identifying opportunities to enhance processes & compliance by intelligent data capture and reporting
- Inputting into finance and tax transformation activity including opportunities to improve through digitalization.
- Supporting Initiatives such as entity rationalisation

QUALIFICATIONS
- Accounting qualification
- Corporation tax trained
- Practical experience of completing and filing corporate tax returns
- Experience of RDEC claims
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Experience in the construction sector is preferable
- Good people skills with ability to engage on technical matters with non-technical staff
- Must be willing to be hands on and capable of driving the delivery of project activity
- Excellent organizer & communicator
- May be required to travel to Costain sites across the UK
