About The Senior Tax Manager Role

We are TC Group, the fastest-growing Top 20 accountancy firm in the UK. We’re business advisers and accountants, and with over 30 years of experience we’ve honed our skills and developed our service offering to deliver a much wider range of bespoke support and advice to ambitious business owners and their businesses.

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and technically strong Senior Tax Manager to join our central tax team, based in our Whiteley office. Working closely with the Group Head of Tax and Tax Partners, you will take a leading role in providing technical tax support to partner firms across TC Group. You will assist with complex tax advisory projects, technical reviews, quality control, acquisition due diligence, internal tax matters and the development of Group-wide tax policies and guidance. This is a broad general practitioner role requiring excellent corporation tax knowledge and a strong understanding of other areas of UK taxation.

The role does not involve the day-to-day management of a traditional client portfolio. This internal focus also means no timesheets!

Key responsibilities will include:

Technical and advisory support

  • Overseeing the Group’s tax helpdesks and providing support on complex technical queries raised by partner firms
  • Leading or providing technical oversight on complex tax advisory projects undertaken for partner firms
  • Reviewing technical advice to ensure it is accurate, practical and communicated clearly
  • Undertaking detailed technical research across multiple areas of UK taxation
  • Supporting Tax Partners and other senior stakeholders with complex or higher-risk tax matters
  • Providing particular technical leadership in relation to UK corporation tax
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across accounts, audit, VAT and other specialist teams

Internal tax compliance

  • Overseeing or reviewing corporation tax computations and returns for partner firms and TC Group companies
  • Supporting the Group’s internal tax reporting and compliance requirements
  • Reviewing internal tax matters, including P11Ds and other employment tax obligations
  • Identifying internal tax risks and ensuring appropriate actions are agreed and completed

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
