Radley Green is partnering with a scale-up Accounting Practice who are part of a £20m revenue professional services group to recruit a Senior Tax Specialist.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a broad Tax specialist to be the first Tax hire into a firm that have big plans for growth.

Our client needs someone who has worked in a Practice environment and is a broad Tax professional covering Corporation Tax, VAT, Personal Tax and Cross border Tax.

This role will pay £70k - £80k plus benefits and huge opportunities for growth.

Outline of the opportunity

  • Join a scaling Accountancy-as-a-Service team as a specialist tax lead for a portfolio of SME and startup clients
  • Own corporation tax, VAT, and personal tax advisory for owner-managed businesses
  • Flex into small business and startup advisory cover when needed
  • Work closely with the wider accountancy delivery team, with real influence over process and client experience
  • Clear path for progression as the business scales

What You'll Be Doing

  • Acting as the go-to tax specialist for SME and startup clients
  • Reviewing tax computations and returns for accuracy and compliance
  • Spotting tax planning opportunities — reliefs, allowances, and structuring
  • Handling client tax queries and escalations
  • Covering small business/startup advisory queries, including formation and early-stage finance
  • Tracking UK tax legislation changes and flagging risks proactively
  • Advising on tax structure during client onboarding
  • Building internal guidance and resources to raise the bar across the team

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in a specialist tax role — practice or in-house
  • Part-qualified or qualified (ACA, ACCA, CTA, or ATT)
  • Strong cross-border/international tax knowledge — VAT/GST across jurisdictions, transfer pricing basics, permanent establishment, cross-border VAT/duty
  • E-commerce sector experience highly desirable — multi-jurisdiction sales, marketplace VAT, international fulfilment
  • Proven track record advising SME, startup, or owner-managed clients
  • Strong UK corporation tax, VAT, and personal tax knowledge
  • Comfortable stepping outside pure tax into broader small business advice
  • Confident communicator who can translate technical detail for non-specialists
  • Practical with Xero, Sage, Excel/Google Sheets
  • Highly organised, juggles multiple clients and priorities with ease
