Mondrian Alpha are partnering with a leading global hedge fund looking to hire an experienced tax professional into its London finance team.
About the Role
This is a newly created role reporting directly to the firm’s Head of Tax, with responsibility across the firm’s UK and European tax matters. The position will have a particular focus on indirect tax and VAT, alongside exposure to corporate tax and wider cross-border matters.

Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of day-to-day VAT oversight across the firm’s UK and European entities, including reviewing work prepared by external providers, managing VAT registrations and dealing with cross-border VAT matters.
- Work closely with other teams across the business on VAT recovery, tax systems, and business activities.
- Opportunities to improve and automate existing tax and finance processes.
Requirements
- 3-6 years' post qualification experience, ideally gained within the Big Four, before moving in-house.
- Strong UK VAT knowledge is essential, particularly around cross-border services.
- Experience in financial services, investment management or trading environments highly relevant.
