About This Role
We are seeking to appoint a permanent post for Senior Teaching Technician: Manufacturing (Composites), to be part of a team of technicians providing practical teaching and support working within the manufacturing workshop in the School of Engineering.
This role presents a fantastic opportunity to shape our multidisciplinary Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil and Automotive Engineering education. The successful candidate will be working alongside the programme team(s) to design and develop curricula and pedagogies that leads to outstanding learning and practice experience particularly contributing to Mechanical Engineering programmes.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a technical environment, along with the skills and enthusiasm to deliver demonstrations and provide instruction to students.

About You
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing (Composites) Technician who will provide technical delivery of composite manufacturing to engineering students. You will manage specialist laboratories, operate manufacturing equipment, and provide hands-on training to support practical classes, student projects, and research.
We particularly welcome candidates who can bring not only strong technical expertise but also a passion for supporting and mentoring the next generation of engineers. We highly value candidates who have a background and knowledge that can help develop our aspiring student engineers.

The successful applicant will have a degree level qualification in the relevant subject area, with evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

Candidates should be able to showcase evidence of their continuous professional growth in relevant subject areas. The appointee will be part of a team supporting delivery of Mechanical Engineering degree related modules.

This is a full-time, permanent post working 37 hours per week.
Salary offers are made in line with the University’s salary assessment guidelines, reflecting your relevant skills and experience in parity with colleagues.
