Senior Technology Product and Programme Lead

If you’re looking to take an exciting new direction with your HSBC career, an internal move can open the door to many opportunities, allowing you to take on a new challenge, and develop your skills. Bring your knowledge of our brand to a new role and grow yourself further.

We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Technology Product and Programme Lead.

As a Senior Technology Product and Programme Lead you’ll shape technology products and oversee complex strategic programmes from concept through delivery and ongoing improvement. This role brings together product strategy, programme governance and technology delivery to ensure solutions meet customer, business, risk and regulatory needs. You’ll work across business, technology, operations, risk and control functions to set a clear product vision, prioritise investment and deliver outcomes that stick. Success means a clear roadmap, transparent governance and delivery that improves resilience, service quality, customer experience, cost efficiency and risk profile. You’ll help teams make informed decisions where priorities and constraints compete and ensure outcomes transition cleanly into business-as-usual operations.

In this role you’ll:

  • Define and communicate product vision, strategy and roadmaps aligned to business and technology objectives
  • Translate customer, business and regulatory needs into clear outcomes and prioritised requirements
  • Manage product backlogs to reflect value, risk, regulatory commitments and delivery capacity
  • Establish success measures across adoption, service quality, resilience, customer experience, cost efficiency and risk reduction
  • Oversee complex multi-year technology programmes across multiple teams, locations, platforms and stakeholders
  • Set programme governance, delivery plans, milestones, dependencies, budgets, resourcing and success criteria
  • Coordinate delivery across agile, waterfall or hybrid approaches to suit the work and manage risks, issues, assumptions and change
  • Partner with engineering, architecture and control teams to embed security, privacy, accessibility and operational readiness into delivery

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
