Senior Structural Technical Advisor / Principal Structural Engineer

📍 Woking, Surrey
🌍 Supporting major oil & gas projects in Libya

JAB Recruitment is supporting a client with the appointment of a highly experienced Senior Structural Technical Advisor / Principal Structural Engineer to join their team in Woking.
This is a senior technical role supporting complex oil & gas projects and operating assets in Libya, providing engineering leadership and technical assurance across structural design, analysis, integrity and brownfield modification scopes.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing senior technical advice across structural engineering activities
  • Advanced structural analysis and detailed design
  • Structural integrity assessment of existing facilities
  • Brownfield modifications, strengthening and repair scopes
  • Assessment of offshore and onshore structural systems
  • Fatigue, load assessment and life-extension studies
  • Technical review and assurance of calculations, models, drawings and reports
  • Supporting complex engineering queries and non-standard structural challenges
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to engineering teams
  • Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering, project and client stakeholders

We’re looking for candidates with:

  • Extensive oil & gas structural engineering experience
  • Background at Principal, Lead, Consultant, Technical Advisor or Technical Authority level
  • Strong experience in structural analysis, structural integrity and brownfield engineering
  • Experience with offshore structures, topsides, jackets, process facilities or existing oil & gas assets
  • Strong understanding of fatigue, strengthening, modification and life-extension activities
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline
  • Chartered status would be advantageous
