Senior Technical Analyst
An exciting opportunity has come available for a Senior Technical Analyst to join the growing team at Brightwell. In this key role, you will be responsible for support to a wide variety of projects with a particular focus on technical pensions issues within these projects, as well as assisting with complex member casework, complaints handling and supporting the core Member Services’ teams.
What you’ll do:
- Provide technical support for bulk project work, including data analysis, individual and bulk calculations and system updates to ensure projects are delivered accurately, efficiently and in line with Scheme requirements.
- Carry out calculations, validate data and support the core Member Services teams with high value or technically complex cases to ensure accurate member outcomes and effective resolution of complex enquiries.
- Support pension administration system amendments to calculations and background data tables, ensuring system functionality remains aligned with Scheme rules, legislation and business requirements.
- Develop and maintain calculation tools used for system testing and non-system calculations to support accurate benefit calculations and provide assurance over system changes.
- Support the ongoing monitoring and enhancement of operational and system controls, helping to identify, mitigate and reduce risks across the Schemes administered by Brightwell.
- Work closely with the internal Legal team to maintain awareness of legislative and regulatory developments and communicate their impact to colleagues, ensuring ongoing compliance and consistent application of Scheme requirements.
- Develop and maintain specialist knowledge of team specific processes, system specifications, data, Scheme rules and procedures to provide expert technical support and promote consistent, high-quality service delivery.
- Adhere to Data Protection, Health and Safety and Quality Management processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations and Brightwell policies.
- Support coaching and development of Technical Analysts, building technical capability, improving knowledge-sharing and enhancing team performance.
- Other duties, as required.

This role would suit someone with:
- Experience of working in pensions with a defined benefit focus.
- Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to communicate complex technical pension, legislative and data-related information clearly and accurately, both verbally and in writing, adapting approach to suit different audiences.
Desirable:
- Ability to interpret and apply pension scheme rules, legislation and regulatory requirements to support technical calculations, casework and operational decision-making.
- Ability to analyse complex data, perform and validate technical calculations, identify anomalies and determine appropriate solutions to technical pension administration issues.
- Ability to build effective working relationships and communicate technical information clearly and professionally with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to effectively plan, organise and prioritise a varied workload, managing multiple tasks and competing deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy.
