Role: Senior Technical Architect

Location: Newcastle, Birmingham, Leeds, or Manchester (3 days/week on-site)

Contract Length: 12 Months

Rate: Inside IR35

Clearance: BPSS


Opportunity Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Architect to join one of our Government Clients. This role sits at the intersection of technical and solution architecture, offering the chance to shape strategic design while staying deeply connected to core engineering execution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Architectural Leadership: Shape strategic solution design and provide end-to-end architecture governance across a distributed, cloud-native platform.
  • Engineering Collaboration: Work alongside cross-functional delivery teams to guide technical decisions, define NFRs, and ensure system resilience and scalability.
  • Artefact & Governance Creation: Produce high-quality architecture artefacts and drive solutions through internal assurance channels.
  • Operational Readiness: Define robust disaster recovery approaches, auto-scaling strategies, and support models to enable seamless, large-scale service adoption.

Essential Experience

  • Architecture Track Record: Proven background operating as a Technical or Solution Architect on complex, large-scale cloud digital services.
  • Modern Design Paradigms: Strong expertise in Domain-Driven Design (DDD), distributed systems, and event-driven architecture.
  • Strategic Oversight: Ability to navigate high-level strategic alignment and complex technical discussions without requiring hands-on coding.
  • Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills to engage, negotiate, and align both technical engineers and senior non-technical leadership.
