Senior Technical Architect
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Technical Architect to provide additional support across a complex, multi-supplier environment.
You’ll support supplier engagement, architecture reviews, technical assurance, integration design, discovery work and the modernisation of services.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in supplier technical calls, workshops and design reviews
- Challenge supplier assumptions, architectural decisions, implementation approaches and delivery plans
- Review APIs, integrations, system architectures and detailed technical designs
- Provide technical assurance across testing, resilience, observability and operational readiness
- Identify architectural and delivery risks and recommend pragmatic solutions
- Support technical discoveries, including build-versus-buy assessments
- Develop prototypes or proofs of concept where these help validate an approach
- Contribute to future-state architecture and service-modernisation initiatives
- Work closely with internal technical teams and multiple external suppliers
- Ensure proposed solutions are technically sound, supportable and aligned with wider objectives

Essential Experience
- Significant experience working as a Technical or Solution Architect in complex technology environments
- Strong hands-on engineering background and the technical depth to scrutinise detailed designs
- Experience reviewing API, integration and distributed-system architectures
- Proven ability to challenge technical decisions constructively and recommend practical alternatives
- Experience providing assurance across resilience, testing, observability and operational readiness
- Strong understanding of modern engineering, integration and service-design principles
- Experience working with multiple suppliers and navigating competing technical perspectives
- Ability to assess implementation plans, dependencies, risks and technical feasibility
- Experience supporting technical discovery and build-versus-buy analysis
- Ability to prototype or validate technical ideas when required
- Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills
- A collaborative, delivery-focused approach with the confidence to work across technical and non-technical audiences

Clearance
- Active Security Check (SC) clearance is preferred
- Candidates who are eligible to obtain SC clearance will also be considered
Rate
£500-550pd inside.
Location and Travel
- The role can involve work across London, Sheffield, Leeds and Birmingham
- Travel is expected no more than once per month
