Job Description
Senior Technical Architect - SC Cleared
£550-£575 Per day Inside IR35
7 Months Contract - Likely to be extended
3 days a week in - Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield, Glasgow
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Architect to lead the design and evolution of robust, scalable cloud systems. In this role, you will define architecture patterns, champion modern event-driven design, and align technical strategies with broader government standards and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture Design and Governance: Define architecture models, tools, and standards. Present solutions to technical governance forums and assure system quality across services.
- Cloud and Event-Driven Architecture: Lead the design of public cloud solutions (especially AWS), container environments, and networking patterns alongside pub-sub and data-streaming event-based architectures.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate and defend complex design decisions to diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Security and Assurance: Implement Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions using technical standards like OAuth and OIDC.
- Agile Integration: Drive modern Agile and DevOps practices across delivery teams, ensuring alignment with broader strategy.

Key Requirements
- Proven expertise in architecture design, modeling techniques, patterns, and tools.
- Deep experience with event-based architecture design (pub-sub, data streaming).
- Strong hands-on knowledge of public cloud technologies, containers, and networking patterns (AWS focus preferred).
- Expertise in Identity and Access Management and modern security protocols (OAuth, OIDC).
- Background in Agile/DevOps methodologies and delivery practices.
- Outstanding communication skills with experience presenting to technical governance forums and influencing decision-makers.
- Experience working within or aligning technical services to government strategies and standards is highly desirable.
