Are you ready to help organisations deliver complex cloud transformation programmes using the power of Amazon Web Services (AWS)?
At Sopra Steria, our Strategic Digital Solutions (SDS) team helps some of the UK's most complex organisations modernise, transform and innovate through cloud technology.
We're looking for an AWS Technical Architect to provide technical leadership across large-scale cloud transformation programmes, designing secure, scalable solutions that deliver real business value.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Architect or a senior AWS engineer ready to move into a broader architecture leadership role.
You'll work alongside talented cloud, data, artificial intelligence and digital specialists, helping clients accelerate their adoption of cloud technologies while contributing to the development of reusable services, automation capabilities and cloud propositions.
We can offer great career progression opportunities, ability to be based anywhere across the UK, benefits which you can flex to meet your needs, and training and development opportunities.
You'll join a collaborative team environment where knowledge sharing, mentoring and continuous learning are actively encouraged.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading the technical delivery of AWS programmes and projects valued at up to £5m.
- Designing and implementing secure, scalable AWS cloud solutions for clients.
- Supporting cloud migration, application modernisation, hybrid cloud and on-premises transformation initiatives.
- Providing technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams and ensuring successful programme outcomes.
- Developing reusable cloud services, automation capabilities, intellectual property and client propositions.
- Mentoring and coaching engineers and technical specialists while communicating complex technical concepts to a range of stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
