About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Architect / DevOps Engineer to provide a hands-on technical assessment of a production platform. You will deliver an independent and in-depth evaluation of the current architecture and infrastructure, providing critical insights into root causes and architectural risks. This role requires an independent perspective to identify what should be prioritised next without engaging in remediation.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive review of application and backend architecture
- Assess Kubernetes and DigitalOcean infrastructure management
- Evaluate resource utilisation focusing on Memory, CPU, and Storage
- Investigate inconsistent response times and Time to First Byte (TTFB) issues
- Analyse interaction between caching layers, including Cloudflare and application-level caching
- Examine Redis, RabbitMQ, and database interactions
- Identify anomalies in SSR and Angular rendering/hydration
- Understand platform behaviour under crawler and automated/bot traffic
- Address recurring 5xx/429 errors and related infrastructure incidents
- Assess current observability setup and recommend improvements for bottleneck identification

Role Requirements
- Extensive experience with DigitalOcean and Kubernetes
- Strong background in full-stack development and architecture
- Proven track record in infrastructure auditing and technical assessments
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with tools to evaluate server-side rendering and caching
- Ability to communicate technical findings in a clear, actionable report
- Experience working independently as a freelance contractor
