Senior Technical Architect — Identity and Access
£600 per day — Inside IR35
A UK central government programme is hiring a technical architect to design how external organisations, and the people who work for them, get access to departmental services that hold citizen data.
The problem you are solving

- How you prove an organisation is who it says it is.
- How you prove somebody works for it.
- What each of them actually needs to see, and how that access is authorised and kept correct over time.

What you will do
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams to define organisation types and their access needs.
- Design organisation and user verification, and the authorisation model behind it.
- Produce the architecture, patterns and models, and take them through technical governance.
- Justify and communicate design decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Assure other services and system quality against the wider government technical strategy.
What you need
- Identity and Access Management, with OAuth and OIDC.
- Architecture design and modelling techniques, patterns, tools and standards.
- Event-based architecture including publish-subscribe and data streaming.
- Public cloud, cloud hosting, container and networking design patterns — especially AWS.
- Agile and DevOps delivery.
- Presenting to technical governance forums.
- Assuring other services and system quality.

The package
- £600 per day, inside IR35.
- Three days a week on site at a northern hub.
- SC clearance preferred, or willingness to go through SC. Existing clearance is not required.
