About Scrumconnect Consulting
Scrumconnect Consulting is a leading digital transformation consultancy delivering innovative solutions across the UK public sector. We specialise in Agile delivery, digital services, cloud transformation, data, and user-centred design, helping organisations build scalable and impactful digital products and platforms.
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer / Architect to support the design of the WebCAF database, risk reporting tools, and integration services within a major digital transformation programme.
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Architect with strong expertise in GDS (Global Distribution Systems) and enterprise application architecture. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing scalable technology solutions, leading architecture discussions, and driving digital transformation initiatives within the travel domain.
The candidate should possess deep knowledge of travel technologies, airline/reservation systems, API integrations, and modern cloud-based architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise solutions.
- Lead architecture and technical design discussions across multiple projects.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and engineering teams to define technical roadmaps.
- Drive integration strategies with GDS platforms such as Sabre, Amadeus, Galileo, or Travelport.
- Define architecture standards, best practices, and governance processes.
- Review system performance, scalability, and security aspects of applications.
- Mentor development teams and provide technical leadership throughout the SDLC.
- Collaborate with DevOps and cloud teams for deployment and infrastructure optimization.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend suitable solutions aligned with business goals.
- Support pre-sales activities, solution estimations, and technical proposals when required.

Required Skills
- Strong experience in enterprise architecture and solution design.
- Hands-on experience with GDS platforms:
- Sabre
- Amadeus
- Galileo
- Travelport
- Expertise in API architecture, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with Java/.NET-based enterprise applications.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with integration frameworks, REST/SOAP APIs, and middleware technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the travel, hospitality, or airline domain.
- TOGAF or cloud certifications preferred.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
