About the Role

Kier Construction is seeking an experienced Technical Bid Writer to support the development of high-quality, compelling bid submissions across a diverse portfolio of public and private sector construction opportunities. This role is perfect for someone with a strong construction delivery, preconstruction or technical background who has transitioned into work winning or bid writing, or is looking to make that move. You'll play a pivotal role in developing technically robust written responses that demonstrate Kier's capability to safely and successfully deliver complex projects, working closely with operational teams, designers, planners, estimators and bid leaders.

Responsibilities

As a Technical Bid Writer, You'll Be Working Within The Preconstruction Team, Supporting Them In Winning Major Construction Opportunities. Your Day To Day Will Include

  • Leading the production of high-quality technical responses for PQQs, SQs, ITTs and framework submissions
  • Developing compelling methodology, programme, logistics, design management and risk management narratives that are clear and client-focused
  • Engaging with project delivery teams and subject matter experts to gather technical information and facilitate response-planning sessions
  • Managing technical content covering construction methodology, design management, programme phasing, sustainability, social value and building safety
  • Reviewing and editing bid submissions to ensure technical accuracy, consistency and compliance with Kier's brand and values

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
