Job Description:

Role Purpose:

We are seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst with strong hands-on Veson IMOS expertise and a proven business analysis core skills. You will bridge CCO business teams and technical delivery teams, translating commercial shipping needs into clear, testable requirements and practical, scalable solutions. The role covers IMOS and its connected application landscape across chartering, voyage operations and disbursements / voyage accounting, from discovery and solution crafting through testing, release and adoption.

Scope of The Role:

  • Platform and domain: Veson IMOS across chartering, voyage management, commercial operations and voyage accounting touchpoints.
  • Technical landscape: applications, integrations, master and reference data, reporting, finance interfaces, access and controls.
  • Delivery environment: Agile product delivery using Azure DevOps or equivalent tools, including testing, release readiness and adoption.
  • Interested parties: CCO business teams, Product, Architecture, Engineering, Data, Integration, Finance, vendors and operational SMEs.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Lead business analysis and requirements

    • Lead discovery, process analysis and requirements elicitation with business and technical team members.
    • Translate business needs into prioritised user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, process maps, functional requirements and decision records.
    • Maintain traceability across business outcomes, delivery scope, test coverage, release readiness and benefits.
  2. Apply Veson IMOS and shipping expertise

    • Act as the senior functional analyst for IMOS across chartering, voyage management, commercial operations and voyage accounting touchpoints.
    • Assess configuration, process, control and usability impacts, finding opportunities to simplify and standardise ways of working.
    • Use commercial shipping knowledge to challenge assumptions and validate proposed solutions.
  3. Shape technical, data and integration solutions

    • Analyse applications, data flows, master and reference data, user roles, access, controls and system integrations.
    • Define source-to-target mappings, business events, validation rules, reconciliation needs, exception handling and non-functional requirements.
    • Partner with architects, engineers, data teams and vendors to assess feasibility, dependencies, risks, supportability and solution options.
  4. Drive Agile delivery, testing and adoption

    • Support backlog refinement, prioritisation, sprint planning and cross-functional delivery ceremonies using Azure DevOps or equivalent tools.
    • Plan business scenarios and UAT, coordinate execution and defect triage, and support business acceptance and sign-off.
    • Contribute to release readiness, cutover, training, knowledge transfer, adoption and transition to support.

  1. Influence and communicate
    • Facilitate workshops, walkthroughs, demonstrations and decision sessions across global business, technology and vendor teams.
    • Present concise options, trade-offs, risks and recommendations to enable timely decisions and aligned outcomes.

Must-Have Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrable functional experience with Veson IMOS, including voyage management, chartering, commercial operations, voyage accounting touchpoints, data flows and integrations.
  • Strong maritime domain knowledge across chartering, voyage operations and disbursements / voyage accounting.
  • Significant experience as a Senior Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst in a complex technology or enterprise platform environment.
  • Expertise in requirements elicitation, AS-IS / TO-BE process analysis, gap analysis, business rules, user stories, acceptance criteria and solution validation.
  • Experience analysing APIs, integrations, interfaces, master and reference data, access requirements, controls and data quality issues.
  • Experience producing functional and technical data mappings, including transformation, validation, reconciliation and exception requirements.
  • Hands-on Agile delivery experience, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, 3-Amigos collaboration and delivery ceremonies.
  • End-to-end UAT experience covering scenario develop, execution coordination, defect management and business sign-off.
  • Proven workshop facilitation, customer management and communication skills across business, technology and vendor teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills, with the ability to make complex operational and technical issues clear and actionable.
  • Experience supporting global transformation, ERP implementation or enterprise platform improvement programmes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.

Good-to-Have Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with SQL, relational databases, reporting or analytical tools such as Power BI.
  • Experience with production release planning, cutover, deployment readiness, hypercare and transition to support.
  • Knowledge of related maritime platforms such as Veslink, DA-Desk, Recap Manager, SmartPAL.
  • Awareness of production support, incident management, P1/P2 critical issue management, and SLA governance, especially as part of solution handover rather than day-to-day support ownership.
  • Familiarity with organisational change, user adoption planning and communications for global transformation initiatives.
  • Experience delivering training, knowledge transfer, super-user enablement.
