We're looking for a Senior Technical Designer to join our talented Design team and help transform creative concepts into expertly engineered, buildable solutions.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Technical Designer who thrives on collaboration, precision, and problem-solving. Working closely with our Creative, Projects, Fabrication, and Production teams, you'll play a key role in translating ambitious creative ideas into practical, manufacturable solutions.

From concept development and technical drawings through to production files and installation support, you'll be responsible for ensuring projects move seamlessly from design to reality while maintaining the exceptional standards Echo House is known for.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Developing creative concepts into buildable technical solutions
  • Producing high-quality manufacturing and production drawings
  • Creating production-ready files for CNC, laser cutting, 3D printing, artwork, and fabrication
  • Collaborating with Creative Designers to ensure concepts are accurately realised
  • Working closely with Fabrication and Project Management teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Conducting site surveys and supporting installations when required
  • Presenting technical designs to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Mentoring and supporting junior members of the design team

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Advanced SolidWorks experience
  • Strong understanding of technical design and manufacturing processes
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Experience producing detailed technical drawings and production files
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment

Desirable

  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Furniture, kitchen, retail, or experiential design experience
  • Fusion 360
  • Cinema 4D or Blender rendering
  • Knowledge of materials, sustainability, and fabrication processes
  • CNC, machining, electrical, or electronics experience
  • 3D printing knowledge
  • Project Management experience
  • Retail production industry experience
