About Payset

Payset is a regulated fintech company operating at the intersection of payments, FX, and multi-currency infrastructure. We serve businesses and financial institutions across global markets, enabling fast, compliant, and transparent money movement. Our core platform handles mission-critical payment flows — and we're looking for a Technical PM who can help us build and scale it.

About the role

We're hiring a Technical Product Manager to lead our core backend team. This is a hands-on, infrastructure-focused role for someone who has genuinely worked close to the metal in payments — not just managed around it. You'll own the product direction for the systems that move money: payment rails, settlement flows, FX, and the APIs and integrations that sit on top of them.

You'll be the bridge between engineering and the business — someone engineers trust to define the right problem, and stakeholders trust to communicate what's being built and why.

What you'll do

  • Own the roadmap for Payset's core payment infrastructure — defining priorities, trade-offs, and sequencing in collaboration with engineering leads.
  • Translate complex technical and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable product specs that engineering can build with confidence.
  • Drive delivery across the core backend team — from discovery and scoping through to release and iteration.
  • Work closely with compliance, risk, and legal to ensure new features and integrations meet regulatory standards across jurisdictions.
  • Own relationships with technical stakeholders: payment schemes, banking partners, and third-party infrastructure providers.
  • Define and track meaningful product metrics — system reliability, transaction success rates, processing latency, and business-level payment volumes.
  • Identify technical debt and infrastructure gaps that create product risk, and make the case for addressing them alongside new feature development.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What we're looking for

  • Payments depth, not just exposure — you've worked directly on payment rails, settlement flows, card issuing/acquiring, or SEPA/SWIFT integrations in a product capacity. You can explain how a payment moves end-to-end, what systems touch it, and what can go wrong.
  • Technical credibility — you can engage meaningfully with engineers on architecture decisions, challenge technical assumptions, and write specs that don't require translation. A background in engineering or a similarly technical field is a strong advantage.
  • Fintech regulatory awareness — practical familiarity with AML/KYC requirements, SEPA rules, PSD2, or equivalent frameworks. Enough to factor compliance into product decisions without needing to be guided by legal at every step.
  • Ownership mindset — you define the what and the why, not just coordinate the when. You've shaped product decisions, not just facilitated the process around them.
  • 6+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years in a fintech or payments infrastructure environment.
  • Strong communication skills in English — you can translate between engineering, business, and external partners clearly and confidently.

  • A fast-moving, international team operating across multiple markets and payment corridors.
  • Competitive compensation, flexible working arrangements, and room to grow as Payset scales.
