Senior Technical Product Owner

£75,000 + Benefits | Preston | Hybrid – 3 days onsite

Own the conversation between technology and the business.

We're partnering with a major international travel technology organisation looking for a Senior Technical Product Owner to play a key role in the delivery of complex, enterprise-scale technology products.

This isn't a traditional Product Owner role focused solely on backlog management. You'll sit at the intersection of senior business stakeholders, Product, Engineering, Architecture, QA, and Delivery, turning complex business requirements into clear technical outcomes and ensuring engineering teams have what they need to deliver successfully.

Just as importantly, you'll be expected to challenge, influence, and bring clarity to senior stakeholder conversations.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead requirement-gathering workshops with senior business and technology stakeholders.
  • Translate business and product requirements into clear technical requirements and actionable engineering backlogs.
  • Own and prioritise backlogs through complex technology delivery.
  • Work closely with Software Engineers, Architects, QA, and Delivery teams.
  • Challenge requirements and proposed solutions rather than simply documenting what's requested.
  • Drive stakeholder conversations towards clear decisions and outcomes.
  • Manage competing priorities across technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Support complex integrations across enterprise systems and platforms.
  • Maintain clarity between business objectives and technical delivery throughout the SDLC.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

But the differentiator is presence. We're looking for somebody comfortable walking into a room with senior leadership, asking difficult questions, challenging assumptions, and confidently driving the conversation towards an outcome.

You'll need to communicate complex ideas clearly, confidently, and concisely, while being equally credible with engineers and senior business leaders.

Why consider it?

You'll join a large international organisation operating complex technology at significant scale, with the opportunity to influence major technology initiatives rather than simply administer an existing backlog. You'll have genuine visibility across Product, Engineering, and senior business leadership, with the autonomy expected of a senior hire.

This is an opportunity for a strong TPO to become one of the people the business trusts to turn difficult problems into technology that actually gets delivered.
