Senior Technical Production Manager
Introduction
The Senior Technical Production Manager is a hands-on event delivery management role within 21CC Group, responsible for leading on-site technical execution and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high professional standard across a wide range of projects, covering small corporate work through to large-scale major outdoor and multi-venue events. This role is focused on making projects happen. It sits within the production and operations side of the business and works closely with the Production Director, Head of Technical Production, and our Project team to deliver projects successfully on site. The role is primarily site and delivery focused (approx. 70%), with office-based planning and coordination (approx. 30%).

Role Overview
As Senior Technical Production Manager, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering technical production across a wide range of projects. You will take ownership of site delivery, crew coordination, supplier management, and build execution.
You will work closely with Senior leadership, Project Managers, and the wider team to ensure projects are planned, resourced, and delivered in line with agreed scope, budget, and programme. This is a hands-on event delivery role with clear responsibility for making sure projects run smoothly and successfully on site.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Pricing & Project Support
- Support the Project Management team with pricing and technical scoping of production-led jobs where required.
- Prepare technical equipment, labor, and logistics costings using Current RMS (CRM) and internal systems.
- Provide practical input on build methodology, resourcing, and delivery approach to ensure quotes are realistic and achievable.
- Identify technical risks at the pricing stage and flag early.
- Assist with developing technical solutions that balance creative ambition with budget and delivery constraints.
- Provide clear technical input into project handovers to ensure delivery teams are fully briefed and aligned.
Planning & Preparation
- Produce project documentation and technical plans prior to delivery.
- Work with Project Managers to ensure all technical requirements are clear and achievable.
- Work with Operations Managers to plan crew, kit, equipment, and logistics requirements.
- Identify potential risks and resolve issues before projects reach site.
Site Delivery & Execution
- Lead on-site technical delivery across projects.
- Manage build, installation, operation, and de-rig.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to standards.
- Maintain strong client relationships on site.
- Act as technical lead on complex or large-scale builds.
Crew & Supplier Management
- Manage freelance crew, suppliers, and contractors during planning and on site.
- Ensure clear briefings and structured working practices.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and safety.
- Support development of junior technicians and crew.
Operations & Logistics
- Work with Production Ops and Warehouse teams to ensure equipment is prepared and loaded correctly.
- Oversee loading, transport, and returns processes where required.
- Ensure all equipment and resources are accounted for and handled correctly.
Financial & Commercial Awareness
- Work within agreed budgets and resource plans.
- Flag cost risks or changes early.
- Manage sub-hires and record additional costs.
- Contribute to post-project reviews and continuous improvement.

Health & Safety
- Maintain high standards of health and safety on all projects.
- Draft and ensure RAMS and safe working practices are followed.
- Lead by example in maintaining a strong safety culture.
Your Skills & Expertise
- Significant experience in technical production and live event delivery.
- Strong knowledge across lighting, staging, audio, power, and structures.
- Proven experience leading crews and delivering projects on site.
- Confident managing suppliers and contractors.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Calm under pressure and solutions focused.
- Full UK driving license.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a calm and experienced delivery lead who takes ownership on site, is technically strong, well organized, and commercially aware, and is able to lead teams, communicate clearly, and maintain high standards while delivering projects safely, efficiently, and professionally.
About the Role
This is a permanent, full-time position with 21CC Productions.
- You should be comfortable working across offices, venues, and on-site environments.
- Weekend and evening work will be required during events.
- A valid UK Driving license.

Salary
- Base Salary is £38,000 to £48,000 depending on experience and seniority.
- Based on a full-time 40-hour working week, with core daily hours 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday, plus evening and weekend work as required.
- Annual salary review in line with company policy.
