Wrightbus are seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to lead technical project delivery for Wrightbus and the wider group. The role reports officially to the CIO and matrixes into the Office of the CTO. Its initial focus is to pick up the Connected Vehicle programme to enable ACP (encompassing Telematics / Uptime 365), alongside other technology project initiatives — owning delivery from scope through to embedded change. It runs multiple initiatives concurrently, sets the standards and governance for how technical change is delivered, and helps anchor a project-management capability that will grow toward a group PMO.
Key Responsibilities
- Own technical projects and programmes end to end across the Data, Digital and IT functions and group-wide technology programmes — scoping, planning, budgeting, resourcing, risk / issue and dependency management, governance and reporting.
- Pick up and drive the Connected Vehicle programme to enable ACP (encompassing Telematics / Uptime 365), coordinating the workstreams end to end across engineering, data and digital; and manage other technology project initiatives concurrently — including Salesforce harmonisation with the Salesforce administrator, plus ad-hoc projects.
- Align business, executive and technical stakeholders behind a shared plan; translate technical detail into clear executive options; surface trade-offs and decisions early.
- Drive change through to adoption — identify and remove blockers and escalate constructively when a decision is needed.
- Establish technical project / programme management as a new group-wide function — templates, standards and lightweight governance — and grow it toward a group PMO as further project managers join.
- Use AI tooling (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude) to accelerate planning, documentation, analysis and reporting, and set the standard for responsible use in delivery.

Requirements

- Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience in a technical, IT, data or business discipline.
- 5+ years managing technical projects in an IT, data or digital environment, including several running concurrently.
- Track record of hands-on, end-to-end delivery and of driving change through to adoption.
- Strong stakeholder management across business, executive and technical audiences.
- Full project-management toolkit: planning, scheduling, budgets, risk / issue and dependency management, governance and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, flexing between technical and executive audiences.
- Credible engaging with engineers and technical teams.
