DESCRIPTION:
Role Summary:
We are seeking a multifaceted individual for the role of Senior Project Manager to join our BioProduction business team. The successful candidate will coordinate cross-departmental teams including Business Account Manager, Associate Project Managers, Technical Application Service Representatives, and Operations partners to lead timeframes for strategic portfolio projects and requests. Responsibilities include leading all aspects of the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific short-term and long-term projects related to the development, improvement, and distribution of BCD Custom products. Additionally, the role requires outstanding customer presentation expertise and the skills to lead in order to accomplish project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination: Lead cross-functional teams across planning, quality, supply chain, manufacturing, and MSAT to develop timelines for the management of BCD customer projects/programs and ensure project objectives are achieved. Build and maintain client relationships through well-managed experiences with the BioProduction team. Construct detailed project plans, including timelines, cost management, and risk management strategies, to be shared with clients and internal teams.
- Performance Measurement and Reporting: Apply appropriate tools and techniques to measure performance such as documented communication, dashboards, and all other requirements for the effective execution and timely communication of the order or project status. Provide regular status reports to senior management and other team members and raise issues to management as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Find opportunities to improve processes and implement validated methods in project management to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Business Continuity: Work with internal teams to facilitate the development, sign-off, and execution of Supply, Pricing, Service Level, and Quality Agreements. Support Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) for BCD products. Provide input to the demand planning efforts across the team. Translate the funnel and customer program information into operational capacity and demand. Collaborate with Product Management and Demand Planner to ensure open communication.
- Client Liaison: Work closely with clients, acting as a liaison between customers and internal stakeholders, enabling efficient communication and effective partnership. Coordinate audits and Technical Visits with the Quality Assurance and R&D teams to meet Quality Agreements or agreed timelines.
- Troubleshoot Technical Issues: Collaborate with technical experts to identify and understand the functional components of the customer’s processes. Align the appropriate Thermo Fisher resources and team members to address and resolve issues promptly.

Education and Experience

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or Business Administration, or equivalent experience. A Master’s degree or Ph.D. is preferred.
- PMP certification is considered a plus.
Experience:
- Confirmed experience in customer experience management (5+ years) and leading cross-functional teams for at least 2 years, preferably in Life Sciences or related industries. The ideal candidate will be culturally attuned to global teams.
Skills:
- Demonstrate participation in leading and aligning project teams and have strong communication/customer service skills.
- Experience working with global teams is a requirement.
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills, with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the capacity to address customer needs.
Additional Information
This role requires occasional travel to visit customers for Quarterly Business Reviews or specific technical meetings, working closely with the BioProduction project management and Operations team to achieve pre-determined goals and objectives.
