The role
We are looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager to bridge semiconductor research, modelling, architecture and engineering delivery. This role requires technical curiosity, strong project discipline and the ability to turn early-stage, ambiguous ideas into structured plans, decisions and outcomes without losing the original technical intent.
You will:
- Lead early-stage semiconductor research, modelling and architecture projects, moving teams from exploration to executable engineering delivery.
- Partner with architects, modelling engineers, researchers, technical leads and programme teams to understand concepts, constraints, trade-offs and dependencies.
- Structure uncertain technical work into clear phases, decision points, risks, mitigations and delivery options.
- Translate research and architecture intent into credible plans that engineering teams can execute while preserving the technical objectives.
- Challenge plans constructively where uncertainty, architectural maturity, modelling assumptions or resourcing create delivery risk.
- Coordinate electronics and software engineering teams, working with Technical Leads, Engineering Managers and Programme Managers to resolve schedule, scope, resource or quality issues.
- Create, manage and report plans for internal and third-party delivery against agreed technical quality, cost, schedule and contractual commitments.
- Communicate status, risks and decisions clearly to programme teams and senior stakeholders, escalating unresolved conflicts or priorities where needed.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
