Photonics Sales Engineer

Photonics is a growing field and an enabling technology for a wide range of applications. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with an interest in photonics to use their technical skills in a commercial environment.

Santec is an innovative, high-tech company, manufacturing fibre optic components, test instruments and 3D imaging products. We are the leading optical test and measurement equipment provider in the field of silicon photonics, an enabling technology supporting the growth in data centres. Our products are used throughout the telecom, optic cable assembly, medical imaging, industrial imaging, quantum optics and laser processing markets. Santec has an excellent reputation and established sales base including many tier 1 customers.

Using a consultative approach, you will be required to provide pre and post sales technical support throughout the EMEA region. A successful candidate should have a degree in physics or electronic engineering; an interest in optics and ability to apply this knowledge in a sales environment. Working in a small team, you will be encouraged to take full responsibility for each client and business opportunity.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
