Senior Technical Sales Manager – Embedded Computing

£75,000-£85,000 DOE, Company Car/Allowance, Bonus, Income Protection, Pension, Life Assurance

Our client is a well-established technology solutions business with over 50 years in the industry, working with leading technology partners to deliver embedded computing, interconnect, sensor, photonics, imaging, communications and power solutions across Medical, Transportation, Marine, Agri-Tech, Industrial, and Aerospace & Defence markets.

They're looking for a Senior Technical Sales Manager to take ownership of the Embedded Computing business unit, leading commercial performance, market strategy and a team of technical sales professionals. This is a genuine leadership role: you'll own revenue and margin targets for the division, shape go-to-market strategy across key sectors, and build senior-level relationships with customers, suppliers and technology partners.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the P&L for the Embedded Computing business unit, delivering against revenue, margin and growth targets
  • Develop and execute the commercial growth strategy across Medical, Transportation, Marine, Agri-Tech, Industrial and Aerospace & Defence sectors
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of technical sales professionals, building a high-performance, design-in-focused culture
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with customers, suppliers and strategic partners
  • Identify and convert significant design-in opportunities across embedded computing platforms, boards & systems, display/panel PC, edge computing, IoT and AI
  • Lead complex commercial negotiations and contractual agreements
  • Own pipeline management, forecasting and CRM discipline across the team
  • Contribute to annual business planning, budgeting and forecasting

The person

  • Degree in an engineering discipline (electronics, computer, aerospace, telecoms) or a commercial degree
  • Proven track record leading technical sales teams within embedded computing, electronics or industrial technology
  • Strong people leadership: coaching, performance management and team development
  • Demonstrable success building and executing commercial growth strategy
  • Experience selling technical products that require design and manufacture (racks, cabinets, rugged enclosures, power supplies, embedded platforms)
  • Confident operating at senior/board level with customers and suppliers
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Due to the security requirements of MOD contracts, applicants must hold a UK passport
