Technical Services Engineer – Passive Fire Protection
South Wales / UK Hybrid Opportunities
Do you have a construction technical background and experience turning drawings and specifications into clear, practical advice?
Tristram Parker Recruitment is recruiting a Technical Services Engineer for an established construction-products manufacturer working within passive fire protection and the building envelope.
You’ll support customers and internal teams with technical enquiries covering product selection, design, installation and performance, helping projects progress with accurate, well-documented guidance.
The role
- Review technical drawings, specifications and project information to provide appropriate product and application advice.
- Prepare clear technical reports and written responses to customer enquiries.
- Work with colleagues and project teams to resolve technical queries.
- Maintain accurate records of advice and correspondence.
- Keep your knowledge of relevant standards, regulations and product applications up to date.

What we’re looking for
- Experience in a similar technical services, technical advisory or technical support role within construction.
- Demonstrable technical-writing experience, including producing technical reports.
- Confidence interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication skills and a careful, methodical approach to technical problem-solving.
- Passive fire protection experience would be particularly valuable, including firestopping, cavity barriers or related façade applications.
- An IFE Level 2 or 3 qualification would be advantageous, with training available for the successful candidate if required.

Working arrangements An office-based arrangement is available for candidates local to South Wales. Candidates elsewhere in the UK can be considered on a hybrid basis, with attendance in South Wales required several times a month.
