Senior Technical Services Manager

Location: London
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Company: Ambit

At Ambit, we deliver complex construction and infrastructure projects through expertise, innovation, and collaboration. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Technical Services Manager to lead the delivery of technical building services across a diverse portfolio of projects.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically accomplished professional to play a strategic role in ensuring the successful design, coordination, installation, commissioning, and handover of building services while working alongside industry-leading clients and project teams.

The Role

As a Senior Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all technical services activities across multiple projects, ensuring that mechanical, electrical, public health, and specialist building services are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and project delivery teams, you will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, driving programme certainty, managing risks, and ensuring successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of technical building services across multiple projects.
  • Provide expert guidance on mechanical, electrical, public health, and specialist systems.
  • Manage the technical services programme, ensuring key milestones and project objectives are achieved.
  • Review and challenge design information to ensure compliance, quality, and buildability.
  • Coordinate consultants, contractors, and specialist suppliers to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Oversee commissioning, testing, validation, and handover activities.
  • Identify and mitigate technical, design, and construction risks.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, industry standards, and client specifications.
  • Manage technical change control processes and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Support project teams with programme management, procurement strategies, and value engineering initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and delivery partners.
  • Mentor and develop junior technical services professionals within the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
