The Role
As part of our Customer Solutions team, you'll play a key role in defining and delivering the technical roadmap that underpins our products and solutions across the UK market. Working with Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and a diverse range of customers, you'll help transform complex requirements into innovative, commercially viable solutions that support our long-term strategic ambitions.
Reporting to the Head of Design and working closely with Sales and Product teams, you'll act as a trusted technical authority throughout the solution lifecycle. From capturing and assessing customer requirements to influencing the development of new products, services and capabilities, you'll bring together technical expertise, customer insight and strategic thinking to create solutions that deliver real value for both our customers and our business.
This is a hybrid position based at our welcoming offices in Reading, with three days in the office and two days working from home.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide Technology insight – including opportunities and threats. Continual research of current and emerging technologies and proposing changes to approach where needed.
- Analyse MNO technical and spectrum strategies to understand how this might create specific opportunities and threats.
- Collaborate with the design team and internal stakeholders to create solutions, based on common products, components and capabilities.
- Identify and engage with suitable potential suppliers and partners. Support the Head of Design with supplier reviews, supplier RFQ/onboarding and any other BAU Operational design duties.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers & suppliers at Senior Management level.
- For major bids act as the technical authority for very high value propositions.
- Act as a UK Technical Authority for product and solution development.
- Be recognised as a Subject Matter Expert internally and externally.
- Working within the Solution Design Team, complete all assigned pre-sales HLDs, post-sales LLDs on opportunities to agreed SLAs. Site visits may be required.
- Collaborate with corporate and shared service teams to incorporate best practice and market changes into the technical roadmap and solution design.

Experience
- Extensive experience within Telecoms industry in technical roles.
- Demonstrable experience of working within or closely with MNOs and external suppliers is preferred.
All round understanding of
- RF environment and radio planning principles for macro sites, small cells and in-building DAS solutions.
- MNO technical and spectrum strategies.
- Site design and deployment, including a working knowledge of acquisition, design and planning requirements for both rooftop and greenfield deployment.
- Structural aspects for site design.
- Small Cell deployment.
- Backhaul transmission including microwave links.
- Dark fibre.
A deeper knowledge in one or more of the following
- DAS Architecture and design (capacity and coverage Modelling).
- Open RAN.
- Private networks.
- Connectivity.
- Dark fibre and/or lit fibre network design.
- The Telecoms Security Act.
