Senior Technical Writer
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Technical Writer based in United Kingdom.
This is a senior technical documentation role embedded within a highly technical C2 engineering environment. You will turn complex engineering knowledge into clear, accurate, and actionable documentation for operators, field engineers, customers, support teams, and developers. Your work will cover software deployment, observability, troubleshooting, onboarding, upgrades, recovery, and operational procedures. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, platform, product, security, and field teams to capture and validate technical knowledge. The role combines strong writing and information architecture with hands-on technical understanding of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and operational tooling. Your documentation will help users operate complex systems more independently while improving release readiness and reducing avoidable engineering support.
Accountabilities
- Create clear product guides explaining C2 products, their purpose, appropriate use cases, operational workflows, and safe operating procedures.
- Write and maintain deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, onboarding, upgrade, rollback, and recovery procedures.
- Document cloud deployment workflows, including prerequisites, configuration, validation, handover steps, and common failure scenarios.
- Develop observability documentation covering dashboards, metrics, normal and degraded system states, troubleshooting approaches, and escalation paths.
- Build symptom-based runbooks covering connectivity, telemetry, infrastructure, Kubernetes, dependent services, and other common operational issues.
- Document UxV onboarding workflows from access setup and registration through configuration, pairing, health checks, and readiness validation.
- Maintain release notes, compatibility information, known limitations, upgrade guidance, and other documentation associated with product changes.
- Work closely with engineering, platform, product, field engineering, operators, support, and security teams to extract, validate, and communicate accurate technical information.
- Establish and maintain a practical documentation lifecycle covering ownership, review responsibilities, status tracking, versioning, review cadence, and internal versus customer-ready content.
- Validate documentation through technical reviews, execution of documented procedures, user testing, and feedback from operational teams.
- Ensure documentation is incorporated into release readiness and updated following significant product or system changes.
- Create structured documentation that enables technically capable users who were not involved in building a system to deploy, operate, troubleshoot, and upgrade supported environments independently.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
