NHS Scotland Pharmaceutical ‘Specials’ Service (NHSS PSS)
We invite you to join us as a Senior Technician within the Quality Assurance Department at NHSS PSS. Post holders must be graduates with a relevant science degree or have an equivalent qualification or experience. Please see the Person Specification.
Duties Include:
- Analytical and microbiological testing of raw materials and finished products
- Documentation and reporting of test results
- Review and checking of production documentation
- Calibration of laboratory instrumentation
- Environmental monitoring of production facilities
We are a licensed NHS pharmaceutical manufacturing unit based at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, supplying hospitals throughout the UK and community pharmacies. NHSS PSS also holds a Manufacturer’s Authorisation (Investigational Medicinal Products). NHSS PSS is a values-based facility showing:

Experience and knowledge of GMP and GLP is essential. This post is suitable for individuals who enjoy learning and working with accuracy and attention to detail, both alone and as part of a team. Hours of work are 36 per week, Monday to Friday.
You will be required to comply with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland throughout your employment.
