Service Engineer / Workshop Technician - Mechanical & Hydraulic

Job Purpose

To inspect, repair, service and rebuild mechanical and hydraulic equipment and associated components, both onshore and offshore. The role will support workshop and operations teams in delivering projects safely, efficiently and to required quality standards, with occasional local and international travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Strip, inspect, fault-find, repair and rebuild mechanical and hydraulic drilling equipment.
• Carry out planned maintenance, servicing, inspection, recertification and function testing of equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and hydraulic faults, providing technical recommendations to maintain equipment reliability.
• Inspect equipment against operational standards, service bulletins, safety alerts and customer requirements.
• Respond to emergency rig-down situations as a priority when required.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, engineering drawings and technical schematics.
• Identify required parts accurately and escalate equipment faults or failures through to resolution.
• Complete route cards, service records, inspection reports, findings, function test reports and other required documentation accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Communicate effectively with Workshop Supervisors, Managers, Operations teams and customers.
• Support continuous improvement by suggesting improvements to working methods, procedures and systems.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas to a high standard of cleanliness and organisation.
• Comply with all company and client QHSE policies, procedures and standards.
• Travel locally and internationally, including offshore, on an ad-hoc basis as required.
