Security Systems Senior Technician

Permanent

Location: Milton Keynes

Hours: Full time, 4 on, 4 off days and nights

Pay: £16.84 ph

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused Security Systems Senior Technician to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled professional with experience in security systems, monitoring environments, and incident management. You will provide advanced remote support across a range of security technologies while ensuring exceptional service delivery and rapid resolution of technical issues.

About The Role

  • Provide first-line and advanced technical support for security systems, including CCTV, Intruder Alarms, Access Control, and Fire Systems.
  • Respond promptly to system monitoring alerts and customer enquiries, ensuring compliance with service level targets.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults remotely using system management and diagnostic tools.
  • Support internal teams, clients, and third-party engineers with technical advice and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor, assess, and respond to security incidents and intelligence that may impact client sites.
  • Manage and process fault reports, ensuring issues are escalated and tracked through to resolution.
  • Review operational performance and KPI compliance, taking ownership of service quality and continuous improvement.
  • Assist with system projects, operational enhancements, and the implementation of innovative security solutions.

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience within a Security Control Centre, Monitoring Station, or Emergency Control Room environment.
  • Strong customer service skills with a proven ability to deliver an excellent customer experience.
  • Good IT literacy and confidence using security monitoring and management systems.
  • Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions in high-pressure or emergency situations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear and concise reports.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues methodically and identify practical solutions.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, and work independently when required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a reliable and professional approach to attendance and performance.

Desirable: Experience with network/IP-based security systems, remote programming, Merlin systems, and multi-discipline security technologies including CCTV, Intruder Alarms, Access Control, and Fire Systems.
