SOCOTEC’s Infrastructure team delivers essential technical services that ensure the safety, quality and compliance of major construction and civil engineering projects across the UK. We provide independent construction materials testing to verify strength, durability and performance of key materials; foundations and pile testing to confirm ground stability; specialist structures and pavements assessment and analysis; and integrated geotechnical and structural monitoring that delivers real time data throughout project lifecycles. Job Description
Senior Technician

As SOCOTEC grows, so do our teams. We’re looking for a dedicated Senior Technician to join our Infrastructure division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.
We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and flexible Senior Technician to join our Infrastructure team. In this role, you’ll need the confidence to work independently, alongside the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team. A background in engineering environments, along with knowledge of structural testing and instrumentation, is essential to thrive in this position.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and undertake product performance and site testing
- Building static load tests and installing instrumentation
- Timely completion of technical work and reporting of results
- To undertake the physical testing of piled foundations at client sites
- The role involves significant physical activity including manual handling of test equipment, as well as working outdoors on construction sites in all weathers
- Knowledge of testing equipment and methodologies
- Able to set up equipment and conduct test methods in line with agreed RAMS
- Competent to analyse and interpret basic data
- Completion of site and test sheets
- Undertake tasks in line with company QHSE protocol
- High customer service ethic – is passionate about meeting customer expectations and improving service levels

Qualifications:
- GCSE English / mathematics
- Previous experience in a similar foundations testing role
- Full manual UK driving licence
- CSCS card or CPCS Slinger Signaller desirable but we can facilitate this for you if needed
- Good practical and communication skills
Additional Information:
- There will be a need to travel and stay away in hotels
