A fast-growing, technology-led online commerce organisation is looking for an experienced Senior Technology & Commercial Lawyer to join its legal team on a six-month interim basis.
This is a broad and commercially focused role supporting a fast-moving digital business operating at the intersection of technology, e-commerce and online services. The successful lawyer will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, providing practical legal advice and helping the organisation move quickly while managing legal and commercial risk.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex technology and commercial agreements, including SaaS, software licensing, IT services, cloud, outsourcing, supplier, partnership and master services agreements.
- Advising on contracts supporting online platforms, e-commerce, digital products, technology providers and strategic commercial relationships.
- Supporting Procurement, IT, Product, Commercial, Finance and Operations teams on a broad range of contractual and technology matters.
- Advising on technology-related legal issues, including data, intellectual property, confidentiality, cybersecurity, AI and third-party technology.
- Supporting online terms, platform arrangements and other matters relevant to digital commerce.
- Identifying contractual and legal risks and providing clear, pragmatic solutions.
- Developing and improving contract templates, playbooks and processes to support a high-volume, efficient legal function.

About you

You will be a qualified solicitor with around 10+ years PQE and strong commercial technology experience, ideally gained within a technology, e-commerce, retail, marketplace or other digitally enabled organisation.
You will have excellent contract negotiation skills and a strong understanding of how technology enables modern commerce. You’ll be commercially minded, pragmatic and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to work independently and build trusted relationships quickly.
This role would suit a senior lawyer who can get up to speed quickly, manage a varied workload and provide practical, business-focused advice from day one.
