Senior Technology Project Manager
Are you an experienced technology project professional looking for an opportunity to lead high-profile projects that deliver real business impact? Do you thrive on working with senior stakeholders, cross-functional teams and suppliers to drive successful outcomes? We are seeking a Senior Technology Project Manager to join our Programme Delivery Team, where you'll lead complex technology initiatives, shape strategic change and play a key role in delivering Peel Ports Group's technology ambitions.
Your Role
As a Senior Technology Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of large-scale, complex and strategically important technology projects that support Peel Ports Group's business objectives. Working closely with senior stakeholders, technology teams, suppliers and project managers, you will provide leadership and direction throughout the full project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest standards. You will oversee governance, financial management, risk and benefits realisation, while driving stakeholder engagement, continuous improvement and successful adoption of technology solutions that deliver measurable business value.
What you’ll bring
You'll bring extensive experience delivering complex technology projects and programmes, spanning infrastructure, systems implementations, operational technology, cyber security, integrations and business transformation initiatives. You'll have a strong track record of leading cross-functional teams within complex IT environments, managing significant budgets, supplier relationships and business-critical dependencies to achieve successful outcomes. Confident working with senior stakeholders, you'll possess excellent communication, influencing and leadership skills, alongside a thorough understanding of project governance, risk management, benefits realisation and change delivery. PRINCE2 Practitioner, Agile delivery experience or equivalent project management credentials are desirable, while experience of Operational Technologies or Industrial Control Systems would be advantageous. You'll be comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, balancing strategic priorities with hands-on project leadership. A full UK driving licence is required, with occasional travel to other Peel Ports locations across the UK (approximately 10% of the time).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
