Role summary/purpose of job
The Senior Technology Recruiter will lead end-to-end recruitment for senior, specialist and business-critical technology roles across the firm. The role will partner closely with technology leadership, hiring managers to define hiring needs, shape sourcing strategies, assess technical and leadership capability, and deliver an excellent candidate and stakeholder experience. The successful candidate will bring strong market knowledge, disciplined search execution and the credibility to act as a trusted adviser on technology talent.
Key responsibilities and deliverables
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for senior and specialist technology roles across different geographies and expertise areas including Engineering, Product Innovation & Management, Architecture and commercial roles.
- Partner with technology leaders and hiring managers to translate business needs into clear role requirements, target candidate profiles and market-informed search strategies.
- Build high-quality candidate pipelines through proactive sourcing, networking and creative approaches to engaging both active and passive talent; at the same time cultivate networks of high-potential, passive talent to meet future business demands.
- Provide market insight on talent availability, compensation, competitor activity, location strategy and candidate expectations to support hiring decisions.
- Manage multiple concurrent searches with strong prioritization, delivery discipline and clear communication of progress, risks and next steps.
- Maintain accurate data in the applicant tracking system and provide regular reporting on KPIs.

Key requirements (Communication/skills/experience)
- Strong experience in technology recruitment, ideally as a combination of agency and in-house recruiting in a professional services environment (e.g. legal, consulting, financial services).
- Strong understanding of technology functions, role families and skillsets, with the ability to assess candidate relevance across technical, commercial and leadership dimensions.
- Proven track record delivering niche or hard-to-fill technology searches across different levels through direct sourcing and proactive market engagement.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence hiring managers, challenge assumptions and provide evidence-based advice.
- Highly organised and delivery-focused, with the ability to manage multiple searches with competing priorities while maintaining quality, pace and attention to detail.
- Comfortable using applicant tracking systems, sourcing tools, market intelligence, recruiting data and reporting to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Collaborative, inclusive and pragmatic style, with a strong commitment to fair hiring practices and a high-quality candidate experience.
Compensation
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York and California, Freshfields is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the States of New York and California and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $110,000 to $200,000.
