Senior Technology Recruitment Leader

Leeds - Hybrid
£60,000-£70,000 + uncapped commission + profit-related bonus

With this one, you won't be launching an agency with a laptop and a LinkedIn licence. The foundations already exist.

You also won't be joining a large recruitment group where your remit and progression are determined several layers above you.

This one is with a relatively small, profitable business, which means a successful senior hire can have real influence on what the company becomes. The longer-term opportunity is genuine.

They're looking for somebody capable of progressing beyond the initial remit and taking on much broader commercial and leadership responsibility as the business grows.

You've built a desk. Probably led people too. Do you want the next five years to look like the last five?

I'm representing a founder-led technology recruitment business in Leeds.

They're not looking for someone to inherit a team or take over a division that already exists.

They're looking for someone to develop a new area of the business using clients, delivery capability and infrastructure that are already there, and build a team around it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Initially, you'll stay close to the market. Winning technology clients, developing senior relationships and remaining personally commercial enough to lead from the front. But that's the start, not the ceiling.

The plan is for you to hire into your area, develop people and gradually take greater responsibility for the revenue, team and strategy as it grows.

The commercial upside grows with it: uncapped commission and a profit-related bonus now, with greater responsibility and earning potential as the part of the business you build develops.

Who could this suit?

Experienced technology recruiters whose track record now goes beyond their own individual billings, whatever their title.

You might currently be a Recruitment Manager, Business Manager, Head of Practice, Associate Director, Director or a senior recruiter who's already built and developed a team without necessarily having the title to match.

If that's you, the questions I'm interested in are:

  • What have you built?
  • Who have you hired and developed?
  • Which clients have you personally won?
  • How do you create high performance in a team?
  • Can you still open doors yourself?
  • What would former consultants say about you as a leader?

Answer those well and you're not being brought in to fit a job description. You're being given a part of the business to shape.

Technology recruitment experience is important, as is credibility with senior technology stakeholders.

And if you're genuinely curious about how AI and automation are changing recruitment, that's relevant here too. They want someone interested in how that thinking can improve the business commercially and operationally rather than simply talking about AI because everybody else is.

If you still enjoy recruitment and winning business but want your next move judged increasingly by what you build around you rather than simply what you bill, I'd be interested in speaking confidentially.
