Technology Strategy Analyst

Shape the Future of Battery Technology

At Agratas, we are building a world-class battery business to power the global transition to sustainable energy. As part of the Tata Group, we are developing innovative battery technologies and manufacturing capabilities that will help transform the future of mobility and clean energy.

We are looking for a highly motivated Technology Strategy Analyst to join our Technology Office in Milton Park, Abingdon, Oxfordshire. Reporting to the Chief of Staff within the CTO Office, you will play a critical role in connecting market intelligence, technology development and strategic decision-making.

This is a unique opportunity for a technically trained professional with strong commercial awareness to work at the intersection of technology, innovation and business strategy. You will gain exposure to senior leadership, influence key strategic decisions, and help shape the future direction of one of the UK's most exciting clean technology organisations.

Key Responsibility Areas

What You'll Be Doing

As a Technology Strategy Analyst, you will help identify and evaluate the technology, market and competitive developments that will influence Agratas' future success.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Conducting strategic market intelligence and research across battery technologies, energy storage, automotive markets, supply chains, policy developments, competitors and investment activity.
  • Building and maintaining comprehensive technology and market intelligence repositories that support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitoring emerging technologies, market movements and industry trends to identify opportunities, risks and potential disruptions.
  • Delivering regular market updates and strategic insights to senior leaders and transforming data into actionable recommendations.
  • Supporting technology assessments, competitive benchmarking and strategic scenario analysis.
  • Leading and coordinating cross-functional strategic projects from concept development through to execution readiness.
  • Supporting due diligence activities and business case development for partnerships, investments, suppliers and technology opportunities.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across R&D, Technology, Commercial, Manufacturing and Corporate Functions.
  • Representing Agratas at industry conferences, exhibitions and networking events to strengthen market intelligence and external relationships.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking an intellectually curious individual who enjoys solving complex problems and translating technical information into strategic business insight.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Materials Science, Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics or a closely related scientific or engineering discipline.
  • Experience within a battery manufacturer, automotive OEM, clean energy business, strategic consulting firm, technology-focused corporate strategy team or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of battery technologies, electrification, battery materials, supply chains, EV markets, manufacturing technologies and clean energy ecosystems.
  • Experience conducting market research, competitor analysis, commercial assessments or technical due diligence.
  • Ability to synthesise large volumes of technical and commercial information into clear recommendations and strategic insights.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build credibility across technical and business audiences.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Experience working in global organisations or cross-cultural environments is highly desirable.
