About The Role…
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Tendering Engineer to join our growing Major Projects Division
This is a key role responsible for leading the tendering process for a diverse range of high-value electrical infrastructure projects. You will play an integral part in delivering commercially competitive, technically compliant tenders while supporting the continued growth of our Major Projects business.
Typical projects include:
- DNO contestable works (11kV-33kV)
- Renewable energy Balance of Plant works (DC/LV up to 33kV)
- Access works for 66kV-132kV projects
As a Senior Tendering Engineer you will
- Prepare and manage multiple tenders, ensuring they are delivered safely, accurately, on time, and within budget.
- Ensure all work complies with Ipsum Power Ltd standards, policies, procedures, and customer requirements.
- Produce accurate cost estimates, quotations, and commercial submissions for major projects.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including HASAWA, NRSWA, COSHH, and other applicable regulations.
- Identify commercial opportunities and communicate these to Directors and Senior Managers where appropriate.
- Produce front-end programmes for selected tenders using Microsoft Project or equivalent project management software.
- Review completed projects to evaluate financial performance and delivery outcomes, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Liaise regularly with your Line Manager to manage tender priorities and critical deadlines.
- Produce comprehensive project handover packs and participate in formal handover meetings with Project Managers.
- Work collaboratively with the Major Projects team to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of operations.
- Share technical expertise, mentor colleagues, and contribute to the wider team's development.

About You
- A Degree, HNC, or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in a Senior Tendering, Estimating, or Pre-Construction Engineering role within the electrical utilities or power sector.
- Experience producing project programmes using Microsoft Project.
- Working knowledge of CAD software to produce site layouts.
- A detailed understanding of current HV electrical jointing techniques.
- Strong knowledge of HV electrical infrastructure, including 11kV-132kV projects.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current legislation, statutory requirements, and industry best practice.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
- Excellent commercial awareness with strong costing and estimating experience.
- Experience working within a fast-paced, customer-focused, multi-disciplinary organisation
