Position Description
At CGI, we help deliver critical digital services that improve how organisations operate, innovate, and serve their users. We are looking for an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer to support high-profile transformation programmes, helping teams deliver quality at scale through modern testing practices, automation, and collaborative delivery. You will play a key role in shaping testing strategies, improving confidence in delivery pipelines, and driving continuous improvement across complex environments.
Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you will have the opportunity to influence technical direction, mentor colleagues, and contribute to solutions that create meaningful impact for our clients while continuing to grow your career within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.
Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position with occasional travel to client sites as required.
Your future duties and responsibilities
In this role, you will contribute to the successful delivery of testing services across complex digital transformation programmes. You will design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions while supporting delivery teams in embedding quality throughout the software development lifecycle. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
