Senior Automation Test Engineer
Location: London
About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Automated Tester to join our Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM team. This role will be responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining our automated testing capability while also supporting manual testing activities to ensure the quality, stability, and reliability of CRM solutions, integrations, and customer journeys.
The successful candidate will work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, Architects, and Platform Engineers to implement robust testing practices that improve quality, release confidence, and reduce production defects.
Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Your Role
Test Automation Strategy & Framework Development
-
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM using agreed automation frameworks and tools.

Lead the development and adoption of the automated testing strategy for Dynamics 365 CRM.

Define and implement:
- Automation frameworks
- Tooling standards
- Test coverage targets
- Quality gates
- CI/CD integration approaches
-
Establish and expand automated regression testing capabilities to improve coverage and speed software delivery.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM Testing
- Create and maintain automated tests covering:
- Dynamics 365 Model-Driven Applications
- Dataverse entities and relationships
- Business Rules
- Business Process Flows
- Plugins
- Custom APIs
- Power Automate Cloud Flows
- PCF Controls
- Security Roles and Permissions
Functional, Integration & End-to-End Testing

Execute manual testing where automation is not practical.

Perform:
- Functional Testing
- Integration Testing
- Regression Testing
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Validate end-to-end customer journeys across:
- Dynamics CRM
- Digital channels
- Middleware platforms
- External integrated systems

Ensure data integrity and expected business outcomes throughout customer journeys.
API & Integration Testing
- Develop and maintain automated API test suites.
- Validate integrations between Dynamics CRM and external platforms.
- Test:
- REST APIs
- Middleware integrations
- Messaging services
- Event-driven architectures
- Third-party systems

Your Skills
Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
- Proven experience testing Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and Dataverse solutions.
- Strong understanding of:
- Model-Driven Applications
- Dataverse
- Business Rules
- Business Process Flows
- Plugins
- Custom APIs
- Power Automate
- Security Models
- PCF Controls
Test Automation
- Strong experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automation frameworks.
- Extensive automated regression testing experience.
- Experience with one or more automation tools:
- Playwright
- Selenium
- Cypress
- Leapwork
- UiPath
- Equivalent automation platforms
API & Integration Testing

Experience with:
- Postman
- REST Assured
- SoapUI
- Similar API testing tools

Testing integrations involving:
- REST APIs
- Middleware solutions
- Messaging platforms
- Event-driven systems
DevOps & CI/CD

Experience working with:
- Azure DevOps
- GitHub
- CI/CD Pipelines

Understanding of automated quality gates and deployment validation.
Data Validation
- Knowledge of:
- SQL
- FetchXML
- Dataverse Web API
- Data validation techniques
Agile Delivery
- Experience in Agile and Scrum environments.
- Strong understanding of modern software delivery practices.
Defect Management
- Experience analysing test results.
- Root cause analysis.
- Defect lifecycle management.
