Senior Test Consultant - Remote UK
Have you led testing across large, complex programmes and now want broader influence?
Our client is a respected software testing and quality engineering consultancy. They're looking for a Senior Test Consultant to become the trusted senior voice on quality for their key client accounts.
This senior role mixes hands-on consultancy, senior stakeholder engagement and leadership. You'll look across several programmes, and sometimes several clients, so you can see the bigger picture, spot problems before they escalate and help organisations release with confidence.
What is in it for you:
- Salary up to £85,000
- UK Remote working with 1-2 days a month into the Leeds office
- Brilliant company benefits
- A high-visibility senior role with real influence over client outcomes
- Varied, challenging work across different clients and industries
- A supportive leadership team that invests in its people
What you'll be doing:
- Acting as the go-to senior testing contact for client and supplier stakeholders, giving clear, honest advice on quality, risk and release readiness
- Running discovery sessions, quality assessments and workshops, then turning what you find into practical, costed improvement roadmaps
- Shaping test strategy and quality standards across portfolios, and making sure they're applied consistently and sensibly
- Overseeing end-to-end and integration testing across multiple systems and suppliers, working closely with automation, performance and environment specialists
- Handling escalations calmly, agreeing recovery plans and seeing them through to resolution
- Leading and developing a team of Programme and Test Managers, helping them grow as delivery leaders and as people managers
- Defining meaningful quality and delivery measures, and using the data to tell a clear story to clients and senior leadership
- Keeping an eye on scope, budget and margin, and working with account teams to shape proposals and manage changes

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
